The story of the manga Bastard!! will be re-made into anime version and is scheduled to air in 2022, on the streaming service Netflix. This anime also carries the original jargon of the manga, "Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy".

The announcement was accompanied by a teaser poster for the anime series Bastard!!. The poster shows the two main characters of the series, namely the wizard Dark Schneider and the priestess who resurrected him, Tia Noto Yoko.
Bastard!! is a comic by Kazushi Hagiwara. The stories in the comics were serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1988.
The manga is set in a dystopian world inspired by Hagiwara's love of classic heavy metal and the game Dungeons and Dragons.
Bastard comic story!! focuses on Dark Schneider, a powerful wizard who once dreamed of taking over the world, until his soul was sealed in the body of a boy.
Then a world war that is said to be destroying humanity breaks out, Schneider is finally released in hopes of ending the conflict and preventing an ancient, more dangerous threat from opening.
Bastard!! also became one of the biggest hits manga published by Shueisha in the late 80s and early 90s. The manga sold more than 30 million copies before going on hiatus in 2009.
That success made the manga Bastard!! is a six-episode miniseries produced by Anime International Company (AIC) in 1992 and released on video.
AIC is an animation studio that has produced some of the most popular anime series in the early 1990s, such as Tenchi Muyo! and Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight.
The latest, this manga will re-create an anime series version that airs on Netflix. CBR reported on Thursday (3/2) US time, the new adaptation will be directed by Takaharu Ozaki, who previously worked on the Terraformars and Goblin Slayer anime series.
The series will be produced by Liden Films, the studio behind the anime adaptations of The Heroic Legend of Arslan and Tokyo Revengers.
