Throughout 2023, Indonesia has hosted several international-scale esports tournaments. Through this article, we attempt to summarize 5 successful international esports tournaments held in Indonesia in 2023!

1. M4 World Championship

Reflecting on global stats for the most-watched esports tournaments, Indonesian esports fans highly anticipate every MPL ID event, the top-tier MLBB competition in the country.

Hence, it was no surprise when Moonton selected Indonesia to host the M4 World Championship. It marked the first time the tournament was held outside Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

The M4 World Championship in Indonesia was unique, taking place in two venues: the Group Stage at Bali United Studio and the Grand Final at Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Jakarta.

2. Bali Major 2023

For Dota 2 fans in Indonesia, the hosting of Bali Major 2023 was a dream come true. In January 2023, Valve announced Bali as one of the locations for the Dota Pro Circuit events.

This was indeed great news for Dota enthusiasts in the country, as the tournament attracted major teams from around the world, including PSG.LGD, Team Liquid, Team Spirit, and many others.

3. MPL Invitational 2023

Next was the MPL Invitational 2023 organized by ONE Esports and Moonton. Unlike the M-Series, this championship invited 16 Mobile Legends teams, both local and international.

This event served as a stage for various MLBB teams to showcase their skills before competing on a larger stage, namely the M5 World Championship held in the Philippines and Malaysia.

4. Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA

Moving on to the next international esports tournament, the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA featured MLBB teams from Southeast Asia.

Indonesia was chosen as the host for the Grand Final, held at Istora Senayan GBK Sports Complex. ONIC Esports emerged as the winners after defeating Bigetron Alpha with a score of 4:0.

5. Ragnarok Stars 2023

Lastly, there's Ragnarok Star, one of the most prestigious MMORPG tournaments worldwide. This tournament brought together Ragnarok game enthusiasts to compete for a total prize pool of IDR 769 million.

The tournament was held at the Main Atrium Gandaria City, Jakarta, marking Indonesia's second time hosting the Ragnarok championship.

These are the 5 international esports tournaments held in Indonesia during 2023. Hopefully, in 2024, there will be even more international-scale tournaments hosted in the country.
