In the meeting entitled 'The Future of Interactivity', which took place on the sidelines of the 2023 Jakarta Nas Summit, AR&Co (a subsidiary of the WIR Group) presented an interactive experience based on Augmented Reality (AR). Technology that is expected to open up a new potential for content creators and brands in Indonesia in welcoming the digital literacy generation.
This event brings together content creators, celebrities, digital influencers, and Youtubers from various parts of the world. The WIR Group, through its subsidiary AR&Co, wants to contribute to Indonesia's creative content industry through AR technology. They believe that AR technology will make content richer, interactive and comprehensive.
"The content industry has been an integral part of human civilization for centuries. From prehistoric cave paintings to streaming services, we are always looking for stories, info and entertainment. However, with rapid technological advances and changing social values, the content industry needs to evolving to keep up to date," said Gupta Sitorus, Chief of Marketing and Sales at WIR Group.
AR&Co displays the Magic Mirror, a screen that visitors can use to take pictures with digital objects of traditional Indonesian headdresses. Apart from that, visitors can also play motion tracking-based games such as Catch the Coin, where visitors must move in front of the screen to collect points. There is also a Clap and Run game that uses a voice recognition feature where the sound of a clapping device in front of the screen can make the characters on the screen run.
The excitement is also complemented by the Stone Hunt game which invites visitors to hunt for stones through the AR lens and geo-location technology features in the area where the Nas Summit is held. Through the MINAR application downloaded in the gadget, visitors can play and also collect points from these stones.
These games provide a fun experience for visitors and they have the opportunity to win attractive prizes and merchandise from AR&Co and the Nas Summit committee. These activities make the visitors active to all areas making it an attractive strategy for brands in targeting consumers.
"For brands, these AR-based games are able to provide a unique experience for consumers to interact with products. This can provide a pleasant experience to consumers when shopping or using products. Directly, this feature can increase the value of the brand itself," explained Gupta.
According to him also, AR technology features such as digital avatars can provide a new color for the content creator industry in Indonesia. Innovative AR avatar visuals bring digital content to life in its entirety. Creators can present a virtual version of themselves that can interact with their audience anywhere and anytime.
AR technology is not only provide immersive and interactive experiences, but can also enhance narrative and entertainment, as well as provide educational and training opportunities. AR can be used in various content, such as advertisements, games and social media.

Nas Summit Jakarta 2023 presents various well-known Indonesian speakers and professionals from the creative content industry such as the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Artist Nirina Zubir, Actor Glenn Alinskie, and many more. From these speakers, Nas Summit also held classes that contained insights in becoming content creators.
