Last week, on December 14th, PT 8 Elements signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Batang Regency Officials on providing a mobile-based English play-learning application for kids between 3 and 11 years old in local areas.
The MOU signing was attended by representatives of PT 8 Elements, General Manager Bernard Riwang and New Business Marketing Manager Dian Soraya. Meanwhile, the reps from Batang Regency Government Officials who attended were Head of Department of Education and Culture, Achmad Taufiq SP, M.Si., and Section Chief of Educational Department, Arif Rohman S.Pd, M.Si.
PT 8 Elements (also known as 8elements), one of the most established mobile content companies in Asia since 2003, had realized that the importance of education cannot be underestimated, as it is the key to a bright future. This understanding has led the company to find the best educational solutions for all children in Indonesia.
"We need education that meets all children where they are, takes them where they need to go. We also have a mission to nurture the children's potential from early years, their golden age," said Bernard Riwang, in an interview. "And we have the best solution which involves students, teachers, and the whole communities surrounding it, along with local governments and private companies."
BIBALALA, the aforementioned application, is a successful English learning mobile-app in Vietnam, by the developer Edupia, thas has been downloaded more than 4 million times through Google Playstore. 8elements decided to bring this subsidized product to Indonesia with the purpose of contributing to educate the nation's children which is also aligned with the central government’s goal.
After going through a long preparation process and making many trips for gradual negotiations to several areas, 8elements finally convinced the Batang Regency Officials in signing the pre-contract agreement to deliver Bibalala as the English Play-learning mobile application for children in the area.
"We are pleased to be able to sign this MOU with 8elements, which has ensured that young children in the Batang and surrounding areas can receive good English lessons for their future, using Bibalala," said Head of Department of Education and Culture in Batang regency, Achmad Taufiq SP, M.Si. "It's only a matter of time before all Indonesians are digitally literate and the education sector must also continue to be prepared for all its supporting technological developments. And, we'll start with Bibalala!"
The Batang regency official had already sealed a deal to have at least 30,000 students; mixed for both Kindergarten and Elementary Schools, to be able to use Bibalala in their formal education sessions at school, or they can also continue the study at home.
In coming weeks, there will still be a number of contracts to be finalized and hopefully more areas will be ready to implement Bibalala for young children. It is still a long journey, but at least the team has marked this as the first step in building a better future with all bright and smart kids to help develop our nation.
